Today is Mother's day, and I have something to tell you. Growing up I used to think that my mother was a pain in the "you know what."

I never liked it when she told me I was wrong even if I knew I was.

I especially hated it when she would punish me when I do something bad.

There were times I couldn't wait to grow up so I could get out of her house, be my own man, rid myself of this sheriff called "MOM DUKES."

You know what?

As soon as I left her house, I found out that there was a new sheriff called "LIFE" waiting for me right outside her door.

Mom Dukes was no sheriff, she was just a sweet lady who wanted to prepare me for what was coming.

Wish your mother a Happy Mother's day for me will you?

In life or in spirit, wish her a Happy mother's day

If you are a mother, read this to your child, tell him it's from an older child who knows better.
